Summer is all about tanning and getting to be outdoors breathing in the fresh air and soaking up the vitamin D. I would very much love to be in the sandy beaches of Puerto Rico, but I shall settle for one of the surrounding Lakes here in Madison. We decided to go to James Madison Park because there is a spot not many people know about which has a large patch of land that is ideal for a picnic and relaxing. I have not been laying out as much as I’d like this summer, so this time I wanted to make the most of the day while playing and tanning. I love this new two-piece from Victoria's Secret, with its zebra print it has an edgy feel and cheeky bottom that highlights your curves. Going with an edgy vibe, I paired the Nickiee studded sandals for a rough and shiny texture complemented with the gold cuff. We spent the day enjoying the sun and playing catch with my awesome shark football as well as a fun game of paddle ball. Not only we had fun while playing but we tanned and got a bit of cardio while at it, three birds with one stone. I of course had to bring out the JBL portable speaker for listening to music and a Dior magazine to get amazing fashion inspiration. Sunscreen, Eos lip balm, and oil wipes are my must haves when out in the sun. This straw-hat tops off the look with a vintage vibe and I am pretty sure it is reversible. I love this "Protect The Skin You're In" T-shirt especially because it was made to cause cancer awareness, but also as the perfect beach cover up since it is long enough to cover my bottom. At the end of the day we enjoyed the most beautiful sunset you can see under Lifestyle. I am a huge fan of a moto style jacket because it is a timeless piece that you can wear however you would like, adding an edgy and hardy vibe. Seeing that it was a perfect summer day, not too hot nor cloudy it was the perfect time to bring it out. I love anything high waist because it gives a flattering look to your figure. The hounds tooth print is flawless on the capris pant, when styled with a knotted sleeveless button up it gives a sort of retro yet modern attitude. Any shoes that are easy to throw on are my friend, just like these shoes from Camper because the cushion is so thick and comfortable to wear for long periods of time, such as a day at work. I have always thought hoop earrings make you look more Latina and so I chose them for this look with curly hair. All that is missing is my imaginary motorcycle, and off I go! Mixing prints is always great but does not always have to be super obvious; it can also be subtle which will make people wonder "What is she wearing?”. I chose to style a striped button up with this wool sweater for just enough layers of warmth without a jacket required. I am obsessed with the subtle floral details on this sweater with the super cute elbow patches and embroidered flowers. Jeans are always my go to when I cannot figure out what to wear in the mornings, mostly because they provide warmth and comfort. These Rag + Bone are exactly what I wanted; the wash is a right balance of dark and light not to mention the patches are an extra fun detail. I decided to stack up the rings and just a pair of simple studs for jewelry. A delicate necklace is always welcomed but this time I saw no need for one. I feel you can never go wrong with a leather bag, especially if they are DB or Coach because they age well and never go out of style. To bring out the green stripes I chose a pair of green mirrored aviators, and gold wedges add just enough shine as well as elongate the entire look. This is a perfect look for a day of work or school! It is that time of the year again when we are not sure of what to wear or even buy. One day it can be raining and warm out and the next it starts snowing again. I know this is annoying and slowly but surely the time will pass and with it the weather will become more favorable again. Don't get too caught up on waiting for it to change and enjoy those layers on layers while you have the chance. A perfect way to bring in the color is with pastels because they are light in color as oppose to bright neon colors that may not look good on a gloomy day. I decided to pair this light blue corduroy skater skirt with a white button up which has green stripes. A perfect way to even the pops of color is to pair your look with something black such as the black tights I chose here and fur jacket for night time. This will give that happy medium of Winter & Spring. Now have a little fun with your accessories! Add a skinny belt for a structured shape. Bring out the bling with a statement necklace and cute colorful earrings. You can choose to wear flats or oxfords, just make it your own. I straightened my hair a few days ago and even with dry shampoo on, the third day is pony tail day. I brush it and curl the ends to make it a bit more done up. Add hairspray and your do will last all day long! Now time to enjoy the sun rays!
