Hello loves! Fall is in full swing here in Madison, the trees are slowly losing their foliage and the nights keep getting colder. It is truly a beautiful sight to see, and though it may make be a bit sad to know that summer is gone there is a part of me that is already excited for the holidays to come. This outfit is a perfect example of how I am embracing the change of season. As you may already know I love vintage clothing and accessories because it is a healthy way of shopping that helps the environment, and I also do it for the thrill of finding something unique to love! I love this dress because of its feminine cut and the colors are reminiscent of fall, but most of all it takes me back to that old couch Grandma used to have. For a boho vibe I paired the dress with an over-sized honey cardigan, it feels like being wrapped in a blanket and that puts me in my favorite level of comfort. I love my new Jeffrey Campbell Everly booties from (Shoo) so much!! These boots are extremely comfortable and look a bit bad-ass which is something I wanted to incorporate to this look. The accessories add that oomph such as with the Fossil watch that is a perfect color for this season and this vintage Dooney and Bourke AWL crossbody. I topped off this look with a wool hat to keep me warm, which looks quite adorable if I do say so myself. What do you like most about this look? Happy Labor Day! I hope you had a great holiday filled with grilled food and laughter, now here is a little fashion inspiration on how to add a fall feeling to a summer day. I am all about summer but even I can admit I have also missed fall. A cropped sweater is a must for fall because you can wear them with a maxi skirt, high waist pants, or in my case high waist shorts. This sweater is very airy and I am obsessing over its intricate knit pattern, and the taupe color is a great neutral for fall. These platform shoes are very easy to walk in and the perfect complement to the top and shorts, as well as a confidence booster. The vintage Dooney and Bourke bucket bag is the perfect fall staple with its navy and brown leather that looks great with falls earthy tones. For the finishing touches, a vintage cross centers this look and a tiny pair of pearls add a delicate touch. I love my fossil watch and I feel it can go with any look, whether fall or not, it’s the perfect color for my skin! I complemented the watch with a copper cuff with an aquamarine stone and topped off the look with a maroon lipstick. I took these pictures while John and I visiting the Allen Centennial Gardens here in Madison, how beautiful are they?! I will be sure to go back before it gets too cold. xoxo, Your Everyday Girl Top & Bralette: Sparkle and Fade (UO) Shorts: Levi's Shoes: Teemix Bag: Dooney and Bourke Watch: Fossil
P R E - F A L L These last couple of days I've been in a dark kind of mood with maroon, plum, and navy colors that are ideal for the upcoming fall. I styled this plum silky maxi with a beige halter top keeping in mind it is light for summer with a hint of fall fashion. I normally would not be very inclined to a halter top, but I love how this one fits loosely and comfortably giving a boho vibe. The details are what originally drew me to this top from the delicate floral embroidery to the crochet scalloped trim. Copper details enhance this look adding that shine and texture that was missing. What I love about the maxi skirt is that you can dress it up with heels for the weekend or tone it down with cute sandals. Have a great rest of your week! Summer is really everything, with the warm weather come more style choices and bright colors, I can already feel the climate getting a bit cooler and cooler which are the first signs of fall and it terrifies me to think winter is surely on its way. That is why you must choose today to wear what you want and stop saving it for another day, of this I am guilty. It is now or never, that is the motto. I wanted to go for a hipster-Free People vibe with this look, keeping in mind my personal style. I cannot seem to stop wearing high waist shorts this summer, it may be because of how great they fit and how casual they look. The moon and stars print takes you to a magical place paired with a distressed light wash jacket a perfect denim on denim staple. This lamb suede crop top is the ideal neutral shade to complement the print and its split back lends a sexy touch and airflow. These are all reasons to look for vintage treasures to recycle especially since this is part of a set I will be styling later on. I love the navy hat with this denim on denim look because it adds a darker shade of blue that welcomes the classic Club Master with a bit of mystery. I made this look my own by adding my newly rediscovered vintage AWL Dooney and Bourke Bucket bag, it is just perfect. I stack my rings up, up, up and this is fun when incorporating different gems and shapes. Adding to that shine my Fossil watch that I cannot get enough of since I got it back in spring because it is an almost chocolaty rose gold shade that complements my skin well and the lovely Bettina sandals from Rebecca Minkoff; topped off with a delicate grey pearl.
