Keeping it Classy

Tartan has been a big trend this year especially during last fall with pleated skirts and flannel shirts. Plaid has been around for a while now and it looks like it’s here to stay, but with this look you'll never want it to go away. To me summer is all about dresses because they are easy to throw on and the wind flows right through just when you need it. The shirt dress is flattering to any figure, adding a polished lady-like look that is always a hit. With this classic red, white, and blue plaid I chose to pair it with white flats and vintage Dooney and Bourke to make this a fresh look. The love birds are an added bonus because sometimes it just works. Styling is kept minimal here since the dress has a busy pattern that we do not want to clash with. I kept my hair out of my face in a pony since I could not get the bun right, but either way it worked out. You can incorporate this trend in multiple ways, all you need is to choose one and make it your own. As you may already know I decided to do a sweater guide last week as a reminder to wear your sweaters before it is too late! In the sweater guide I incorporated argyle pints, cashmere solids, and fun prints. Choosing how to style each different sweater styles is what makes the look work. All while staying comfortably warm! Incorporate my styling tips for even more sweater styles such as vests, cardigans, etc. I am so glad for spring beak because it is a sign that the weather will soon increase. Needless to say, the time off and seeing family and friends was much needed. I also enjoyed mom's home cooked meals and a Childish Gambino concert. What I am most excited to share with you is my collaboration with Rise. I will be sharing all the details this week but now it is time for me to get ready & go! I hope you all had a great spring break!
Your Everyday Girl CASHMEREHere is a way to pair a simple solid sweater to make a very well put together look. My motto is: Any day is a cashmere kind of day. Cashmere has been around for thousands of years, which I thank God for! If it were up to me, every sweater in the world would be made of cashmere. By now you should understand my obsession of the fabric, mostly because of the softness and warmth that it gives. This green plaid skirt is actually made of wool and makes for a perfect duo with the black tights. Depending on how chilly it may get you can wear a silk camisole underneath for even more comfort and warmth. Accessorizing is crucial in every outfit you put together, whether you go all out or keep it minimal. The maroon oxfords are my go-to when it comes to a closed toe shoe that adds texture. You can choose a delicate necklace as I did and top it off with a hat of your choice or you could just add a statement necklace. Keep warm and stay stylish! Trench: Vintage Burberry Top: H&M Skirt: Vintage Scarf: Burberry Shoes: Gap Gloves: Lauren Ralph Lauren Belt: Coach Tights: Walgreen's This winter has been all about staying stylish without compromising our warmth. There is no better way to feel fabulous than to throw on a beautiful Burberry trench coat. This has to be my most prized possession from in my wardrobe. Paired with the nova check signature cashmere scarf it is magic. A simple beige button up top and a mustard colored skirt is the right combination of basic and corporate necessary for this classy and feminine look. As usual black tights are a must when wearing a skirt or a dress. I added a skinny leather belt at the waist line of the skirt to prevent my skirt from shifting. I am all about the little things and I just love the herringbone print on the flats as well as the small belt buckle. I like the fact that the small leather belt and leather gloves seem to be almost the same shade of mustard as the skirt. Leather gloves are sure to keep your fingers warm and I love the brown braided trimming on these as well as the LRL inscription, like I said it is all about those little details. I always love having my hair straight because it is so much easier to style it, even though it is time consuming I feel I finish faster and faster each time. With simple makeup and a bold lip such as this ruby/wine color is the right shade to complement this entire look as well as the red on the Burberry plaid. The best way to beat the winter is to do it in style. Xoxo, Your Everyday Girl |
