T H E F I S H T A I L B R A I DSummer is all fun and games until you step outside and come to the realization you might melt before you make it back home. Need not to worry here is a look that will keep you looking fierce and feeling it too! A fishtail braid is a nice way to keep your hair neat in the humid days and if you are like me you may like to throw something new in the mix at times. The Vive Top from Dolce Vita is giving me just that; a summer vive! The braided trim traces the scoop neck to reveal split back that works as the perfect silk top. The black and white tribal print adds a bohemian-chic feel perfect with hot pink. Mirrored aviators add a fun pop of color and holographic heels catch it all in a subtle way! A black leather tote is a nice balance to this detailed look. Shining Bright Your Everyday Girl Top: Dolce Vita Shorts & Studs: Urban Outfitters Heels: Zara Aviator: Victoria Beckham Bag: Tory Burch

This is the time to rock your blazers especially with the constant change of climate. That is all fine because as they say: April showers bring May flowers! Radiant Orchid is the 2014 Pantone Color of the Year and here is a way to rock this color in any weather. I chose to pair this orchid colored button up with a navy blazer for a business casual look, the blazer is wool which will substitute any need for a coat. A very dark wash skinny jean will give this outfit a polished vibe that I am aiming for. I chose to pair these classic yet fancier flats, and because I have not worn them in a while. It's crazy how we often forget what's in our closet. I cannot get enough of this bag! It is the perfect size and I have not seen many vintage Dooney and Bourke bags in the same style. With very minimal jewelry this is a perfect business casual look. The Weather Outside is Frightful...Sweater: J Crew Skirt: J Crew Handbag: Tory Burch Flats: Tory Burch Tights: Walgreen's Bracelet: Check Out DIY under 'Lifestyle' The Holidays are perfect when they are spent with family. Now that I am older I see that I enjoy spending the Holidays with family and loved ones instead of going out to party(leave it for New Years). One of my most favorite things about Christmas is all the delicious food! I shared a picture with you of a "pernil" also known as pork shoulder, this is one traditional item to make in Puerto Rico for the holidays. Needless to say it was so tender and flavorful, I want more just thinking about it. I wanted to stay comfortable all night while getting to places, eating , and opening gifts. I also wanted to be warm while only wearing my black Jack pea coat. Wool is just what I needed! The tan cardigan with boxy black pockets is great with this shorter length skirt which also has pockets :) It was time to grab a new pair of tights and of course I went to Walgreen's! In my opinion they have a great selection of tights that are longer lasting. I loved how great the black leather handbag and tan flats complement each other without over doing it. Small studs and a sparkly headband made this look complete, but the best accessory of all would be my loving and handsome boyfriend. I hope you had a great Christmas! Love, -Your Everyday Girl |
