Your Everyday Girl
I am a huge fan of a moto style jacket because it is a timeless piece that you can wear however you would like, adding an edgy and hardy vibe. Seeing that it was a perfect summer day, not too hot nor cloudy it was the perfect time to bring it out. I love anything high waist because it gives a flattering look to your figure. The hounds tooth print is flawless on the capris pant, when styled with a knotted sleeveless button up it gives a sort of retro yet modern attitude. Any shoes that are easy to throw on are my friend, just like these shoes from Camper because the cushion is so thick and comfortable to wear for long periods of time, such as a day at work. I have always thought hoop earrings make you look more Latina and so I chose them for this look with curly hair. All that is missing is my imaginary motorcycle, and off I go! F O U R T H O F J U L YThe fourth of July to me is all about getting up early to get to the parade, cooking out, and heading to the lake for fireworks with the family. Thankfully, this year my father was able to fly in from Puerto Rico which made the whole experience that much more special. Family time is always a great time especially on holidays as these. A dress can go a long way, first of all the print could not be more perfect for a July 4th on Lake Michigan, and the airy fabric kept me cool under the hot sun. Red heels add a festive vibe while enhancing the sailboats on the print. Keeping in mind it may be very bright out, these green mirrored aviators work as a statement pair of sunnies that also complement the print. Pearls and a shoulder bag add a retro ladylike vibe that I love. Feels Good to be Home Your Everyday Girl Dress: Sunny Girl Heels: Apt. 9 Bag: Coach Pearls: Vintage
Be different, be you. Knowing that summer is right around the corner is quite exciting, but I must admit I am not looking forward to those excruciating hot days. Spring is my favorite season for two reasons; flowers bloom and the weather is just right neither hot nor too chilly. This weather calls for a nice pair of jeans and a cute top. I am a fan of the peplum as I have styled a leather one a few months ago on Excellence in Numbers. This peplum is a perfect change for spring and summer since it is strapless and its lace detail. For a lean look pair it with a dark wash super skinny jean and a comfortable pair of pumps. I chose bold cameo earrings and stacked up a few rings for just a little shine needed with this simple look. This is great if you are working a shift and plan on getting with the girls afterwards. I had a very busy weekend working tons, thankfully I have next weekend off and will be enjoying the great outdoors! How was your weekend? Making a great outfit is all about the details of the prints and color as well as the different textures and balances. Velvet is always a favorite for its soft texture and fancy look, especially in deep red. When wearing a jacket there are always chances you may want to unbutton it or take it off so I chose to wear a simple white camisole underneath to be prepared. The silk adds a great texture with just enough detail of lace and stripes. Printed pants are one of my favorite trends, they’re so much fun. I love the super skinny cut and how great the print lays. When something that is $30 can look like a $300, it does not get better than that and these pants are it. A pointy toed heel is always nice because they never go out of style and elongate your legs. I walked most of the day with these and they were super comfy. Milkmaid braids are so cute and I actually had never done them before, thanks to my awesome sister for doing my hair and makeup. It is exactly what I wanted and more! Accessorizing is all about the details such as with the jewels on these dainty earrings and simple black cameo. Needless to say the beautiful gold details on this vintage bag, from the strap to the tassels and beaded flowers. Fortunately, I wore this look on a beautiful and sunny day with a stylish pair of Club Master, this look is complete.
