Spring is officially here in Madison, WI. The sunny days have become more frequent with a gloomy day here and there. Yesterday the weather was beautiful, the sky was my favorite shade of baby blue without a cloud in sights, I could hear the birds chirping, and there was no jacket required. Perfect timing to bring out the floral prints and to shave those winter legs! How beautiful is this knit skirt! The elaborate detail of various floral prints and pleats give a very lady-like feel. I chose to pair it up with white to brighten up the whole look. This shirt is actually a dress that the skirt covers the length of giving me an extra layer of warmth for the afternoon chills. Here is my newest addition to the Dooney and Bourke collection. This one is easily a favorite because of how bright white it is. The tan helped me choose a tan leather belt and these old sandals I've had forever, which I love. I even made my boyfriend go back to pick them up after I forgot them 30 minutes away. I would say this is outfit is the reason why. I decided to incorporate green with the DIY cameo necklace to compliment the skirt. I also paired iridescent stud earrings and a topaz ring to have a subtle bling. The shellac still looks fabulous after a week and my Pedi is getting some use. I am happy to formally inform you of my collaboration with Rise for this amazing shoot. The Rise Project was made for the sole purpose of planting a seed of courage and inspiration in hope of introducing a universal movement towards a greater good. Here I am holding my very own excel notebook made of 100% Recycled materials. Get yours now! www.RiseProj.com This look was styled around the peplum, which is very in season. I love this faux leather peplum; it adds a matte texture with embroidered detail. When styling a peplum keep in mind that it adds a ruffle to your shape which can turn from flattering to unflattering if styled incorrectly. A skinny jean will make you look leaner and white freshens up your look. The blazer here has a great shape and cut that complements the peplum perfectly. Black & White usually call for a pop of color, red is classic and will not disappoint. With this vintage red leather jacket I was able to layer up without being too bulky. Add a red lipstick for a daring girl's night out look. As you may already know I decided to do a sweater guide last week as a reminder to wear your sweaters before it is too late! In the sweater guide I incorporated argyle pints, cashmere solids, and fun prints. Choosing how to style each different sweater styles is what makes the look work. All while staying comfortably warm! Incorporate my styling tips for even more sweater styles such as vests, cardigans, etc. I am so glad for spring beak because it is a sign that the weather will soon increase. Needless to say, the time off and seeing family and friends was much needed. I also enjoyed mom's home cooked meals and a Childish Gambino concert. What I am most excited to share with you is my collaboration with Rise. I will be sharing all the details this week but now it is time for me to get ready & go! I hope you all had a great spring break!
