Your Everyday Girl
Happy Monday loves! Yesterday was national watermelon day and you may know I love watermelons from my shopping haul. I have had this chiffon cami from American Apparel for a while now, and I am glad that I saved it for this perfect day. I love the watermelon print on this sheer texture that lets the wind right through. It was a bit hard to style it at first, but after a few changes I chose these almost white high waist shorts to bring out the highlights on the print. I have been getting so many compliments on these Steve Madden suede Lagunna sandals and I just cannot stop wearing them! The height on these shoes is ideal and they are extremely comfortable to walk in even for hours at work. I kept this a very simple look with only studded iridescent earrings and a couple of silver rings. I topped the look with a small AWL Dooney and Bourke cross body. Off I go to finish the other half of this delicious watermelon! Have a great week! Your Everyday Girl Top: American Apparel Shorts: Levi Strauss Heels: Steve Madden Bag: Dooney and Bourke

I am so happy to share with you the latest good news I received! You are looking at the new Urban Outfitters employee! Ever since I moved to Madison I have wanted to work there and now that I have the opportunity I am excited to continue learning and to be part of a great culture. Urban Outfitters, Free People, Anthropologie, and Terrain are all sister companies which is pretty exciting to think of this new window of opportunities! This is what I chose to wear to my interview; I did not want to look like I tried too hard or not enough but this I felt like a great balance. I chose to wear this silk button up from Urban Outfitters for a semi-business look and the color is great. Paired with black high-waist leggings it is a perfectly comfortable duo, to prevent being nervous in an interview dress comfy. For a retro vibe I chose vintage earrings and Station Bag which also adds texture. These chunky heels quickly became one of my favorite; they are comfortable and make you feel super tall and confident. I put my hair up in a bird’s nest and topped off the look with a bold lip. Spring is finally here, and I cannot wait for the tulips to start blooming and trees to flourish. In the meantime we can settle for floral prints. I love this chiffon skirt which has both the floral print and pastel colors that are great for Easter. With all the different colors in the skirt there are many options as to how to pair it. I decided on a peach silky top paired with a purple and metallic cardigan which gives two different textures that also add shine. I like the scoop neck of this top because it has a ruching detail that is feminine and in my opinion substitutes a need for a necklace. I chose pearl earrings and my new watch as well as a few rings for more shine. To brighten up this look I paired it with beige bag and flats. Soon enough we will be complaining about how hot it is, and will love every second of it. I love a "school girl" look and this one is a more subtle one inspired by American Apparel. I have been trying to wear all my sweaters before it gets warm out. There is nothing better than a cashmere sweater especially when looking for comfort. Paired with the high waist skirt I was able to tuck in the sweater for a more collected look. I like when pink and green are paired together, which may be difficult to do. Since both are a light dusty shade they work well, which that I really like for spring, whether it is sunny or not. I accessorized with multiple jeweled rings and simple earrings as well as a pearl bracelet without a necklace. You can do as you wish to your own preference. Knee high socks will complete that school girl look as well as adding extra warmth. Paired with a comfy shoe and bag on hand (or shoulder) this look is complete and time to go! Your Everyday Girl American Apparel is all about keeping it natural so I did my hair the easiest way I can; brushed and wait to dry. As well as minimal makeup and Eos lip balm.
