Happy Cinco de Mayo

Mixing prints is always great but does not always have to be super obvious; it can also be subtle which will make people wonder "What is she wearing?”. I chose to style a striped button up with this wool sweater for just enough layers of warmth without a jacket required. I am obsessed with the subtle floral details on this sweater with the super cute elbow patches and embroidered flowers. Jeans are always my go to when I cannot figure out what to wear in the mornings, mostly because they provide warmth and comfort. These Rag + Bone are exactly what I wanted; the wash is a right balance of dark and light not to mention the patches are an extra fun detail. I decided to stack up the rings and just a pair of simple studs for jewelry. A delicate necklace is always welcomed but this time I saw no need for one. I feel you can never go wrong with a leather bag, especially if they are DB or Coach because they age well and never go out of style. To bring out the green stripes I chose a pair of green mirrored aviators, and gold wedges add just enough shine as well as elongate the entire look. This is a perfect look for a day of work or school! Blazer & Sweater: Lauren Ralph Lauren Jeans: Hudson Handbag: Vintage Dooney & Bourke Boots: Breckelle's Watch: Sturling Silk Scarf: Vintage Necklace: DIY Ring: ReThreads Super cool modern gargoyles! I have finally found the perfect way to stay warm, with Cashmere + Wool. The cashmere cable knit is perfect underneath a wool blazer because you will not feel itchy from the wool since the sweater is extremely soft and together they are perfectly warm. Brown boots and a dark wash jean is pretty much necessary here. When accessorizing stay within your color scheme and add a pop of color somewhere, somehow. This vintage Dooney & Bourke myrtle green handbag paired with a navy and mustard yellow silk scarf adds just the right amount of the perfect colors. Accessorizing is all about the little details. Such as the delicate cameo necklace and the beautiful gold and brown watch. The little things are what make the big picture, so keep in mind your overall look you are going for. I wanted to go for a totally Ralph Lauren preppy look, I'd say my mission was accomplished. Stay warm, -Your Everyday Girl Layering different patterns such as a soft knit and a polished herringbone add dimension to your look. It's Beginning to Look a lot like ChristmasTop: Levi's Strauss Sweater: BDG Jeans: Hudson Boots: Franco Sarto As the holidays come closer we start to get busy with getting presents, attending holiday parties and we must find a way to stay stylish. You do not have to always go all out to feel beautiful. A well put together simple look can get the job done. Denim was a hit this year especially on denim tops and denim jackets. I was able to make this a not so obvious denim on denim look by adding a maroon crew neck sweater, not to mention the adorable elbow patches! If you find yourself staying away from sweaters as I do because they may be itchy, this is the perfect solution. You will not feel a thing other than extra warmth. I prefer a dark wash jean because they work well with everything and look more sophisticated. Though you should keep a light wash jean in your wardrobe for those pretty pastels. I paired this look with these suede and leather brown ankle boots because they add different textures and the buckles add a an edgy feel. My look was officially complete but I wanted more. I kept trying different necklaces but could not find the right one to match up to this look. Then I realized that you don't always need a necklace or a bracelet to make a look complete. As the old saying goes "Less is More". Once I put my look together it came the time to figure out what to do with my hair and makeup. I usually opt out for straightening it which can take quite a while if you have natural curly hair. This time I just brushed it, added musse, waited for it to dry. My makeup consisted of a bit of concealer, blush, and mascara of course! My new glasses from SEE seem to work well with everything I wear, I love them more and more each day! PS: Never leave the house with wet hair, wait it out or use a blow-dryer. If you are in a hurry, do not risk being sick for Christmas! Such a beautiful Christmas tree at Monument Square Racine, WI As Christmas hurries to get here we should always remember the original meaning of Christmas. It is not about getting and buying gifts, or eating and having days off. Christmas is a reminder of how amazing God is for gifting us with a way into heaven. We also have to remember to be thankful for everything we are blessed with because there are so many more unfortunate families around the world. I hope you all have a wonderful Holiday Season! Love,
-Your Everyday Girl Everyday is ThanksgivingBlazer: Anthropology Turtle-Neck: J Crew Jeans: Hudson Boots: Report Necklace: Beautiful Vintage Tie Rings: Vintage I cannot believe how fast this year has gone! It feels like summer was just a couple weeks ago and now there is snow on the ground. Thanksgiving came out of nowhere and just as fast as it came it went. I have not been back home in a couple months so I have been in dire need of some of "Mom's Homemade" cooking! I was not disappointed! This year I am thankful for being blessed in abundance, all my loved ones, maturing and growing up, and all the great memories this year has brought. It Is the first of the Holidays and I wanted to dress up while staying comfortable. I paired this super soft grey turtleneck with this tan corduroy blazer to make this a dressed up look for Thanksgiving. Since I opted out on comfort, my favorite jeans were a must! I decided to edgy it up a bit with combat boots, which also kept my toes nice and warm. This beautiful vintage tie is what I live for! The pendant has a very pretty flower print on it and it iis adjustable for different lengths. You can wear it as a high or low tie as well as a necklace when you lower it all the way down. I decided to straighten my hair to add softness. With my gold rings and boyfriend in hand I was ready for the Thanksgiving Festivities! It was a great Thanksgiving and I hope yours was just as great as mine. Happy Holidays -Your Everyday Girl Thankful for Love Some of the Deliciousness |
