W R A P P E D I N S I L KHello lovely readers! Are you ready for the change of climate? I cannot believe how extremely fast this summer flew by. The feeling is bitter sweet because I love summer, but enjoy fall just as much. Silk is the perfect fabric for a smooth transition from summer's heat to falls chilly breeze. This Deep V dress from Shopbop is a beautiful shade of jade that is perfect for fall and its long sleeves are ideal! I can easily see this dress transitioning into my winter wardrobe with tights, booties, and a vest. I decided not to use the sash that came along with the dress and instead I opted for a vintage gold belt that defines the waist. The skirt has an uneven rounded hem that I am in love with because it gives an illusion of a mini dress. I kept the accessories minimal with the lovely Ball & Chains cuff and simple cameo earrings because this dress is just effortless. To add a touch of color I painted my nails with OPI Cajun Shrimp that matches my vintage Dooney and Bourke perfectly! How is the climate change where you live? Here in Madison it suddenly got really chilly! I hope you have a great rest of the week! S U M M E R L O V I N'Lately, all I have been wanting to wear are high waist shorts for their comfortable fit and retro vibe that are ideal for summer. I also have been in a Free People vibe lately which must be since working at Urban Outfitters, here is my girly-gypsy look. This hot pink silk camisole is extremely comfortable and simple with a lace twist that I love, especially since I got it on Maxwell Street Days. These vintage shorts you may have seen me style in the past, I just love the embroidered roses that run along the sides. I layered this thin cardigan that screams fairytale with its scalloped trims and floral details. The accessories take this look to the next level with lots of sterling silver details and pops of turquoise complemented with Oui Madame Essie polish. The Petty Suede Booties from Sam Edelman add a western feel paired with frilly socks for a girly touch. To top off this look I chose a beige Dooney and Bourke bag that adds a nice rugged leather texture and of course round sunnies. Have a great rest of the week! Cotton is a great fabric for summer because it is perfectly flowy whereas silk can make you feel hotter and is preferable in fall and spring. When I was a buyer at ReThreads these vintage undeniably amazing harem pants came in, first dibs never felt better. You just do not see things like this anymore and that is one of the many reasons to love vintage clothing and accessories. I had a hard time finding a top for these multi panel pants, each time I tried to wear them I just could not make it work. This is okay because one day it just clicks. The ivory silk camisole has everything I was looking for; a solid color and statement details. I love the deep V cut of the lace that adds just a little more oomph and the back details are a sexy plus. The Felicia ballet flat dazzles with sparkle complemented by rings and reversed Marc Jacobs cuff. Earrings are always important and here is an example that dainty earrings can also make a statement. The blue stones complement the paisley panel while giving a pop of color to your face. I feel like a genie that just came out of the bottle ready to grant your three wishes. T H E F I S H T A I L B R A I DSummer is all fun and games until you step outside and come to the realization you might melt before you make it back home. Need not to worry here is a look that will keep you looking fierce and feeling it too! A fishtail braid is a nice way to keep your hair neat in the humid days and if you are like me you may like to throw something new in the mix at times. The Vive Top from Dolce Vita is giving me just that; a summer vive! The braided trim traces the scoop neck to reveal split back that works as the perfect silk top. The black and white tribal print adds a bohemian-chic feel perfect with hot pink. Mirrored aviators add a fun pop of color and holographic heels catch it all in a subtle way! A black leather tote is a nice balance to this detailed look. Shining Bright Your Everyday Girl Top: Dolce Vita Shorts & Studs: Urban Outfitters Heels: Zara Aviator: Victoria Beckham Bag: Tory Burch |
