Your Everyday Girl
Rory Beca quickly became a phenomenon after her first collection in summer 2006. She features vintage-inspired, wearable fashions with a feminine edge for styles that are endlessly chic. The Emilion Roset dress is no exception; its floral crocheted details lend a vintage feel to the structured bodice. The elastic band gives a casual vibe that says "I might just stop at the beach" and the shirttail hem finishes the silhouette. This dress feels like a dream it is just effortless and extremely comfortable needless to say white is a breath of fresh air. To complement this detailed dress less accessories will give you more. The Rebecca Minkoff Bettina sandal in rose gold are the perfect pop of shine that will be sure to get you noticed on any summer day. Lately I can't seem to get enough of statement jewelry such as the chunky rings seen here and gold cuff from Marc Jacobs. There is just something about Marc Jacobs jewelry that I love. Something old seems right when wearing white; in this case I chose a dainty cameo necklace and small vintage Coach Leather crossbody bag. There is nothing I love more than enjoying ice cream on a hot summer day. I have a few favorites from chocolate chip, butter pecan, and the classic Neapolitan. When I saw this swan pleat jumpsuit I could only think of ice cream. The pink, vanilla, and chocolate color-block adds playful volume to an otherwise structured suit. Classic pumps elongate your legs while the nude patent leather complements the hidden chocolate panel adding a shiny texture. A sequined bag adds all the shine and sparkle that is missing in this simply chic look. Simple pearl stud earrings top off this look that is perfect for a day in the 'Windy City'. T H E F I S H T A I L B R A I DSummer is all fun and games until you step outside and come to the realization you might melt before you make it back home. Need not to worry here is a look that will keep you looking fierce and feeling it too! A fishtail braid is a nice way to keep your hair neat in the humid days and if you are like me you may like to throw something new in the mix at times. The Vive Top from Dolce Vita is giving me just that; a summer vive! The braided trim traces the scoop neck to reveal split back that works as the perfect silk top. The black and white tribal print adds a bohemian-chic feel perfect with hot pink. Mirrored aviators add a fun pop of color and holographic heels catch it all in a subtle way! A black leather tote is a nice balance to this detailed look. The fresh produce, beautiful flowers, and plants are my go-to for their affordable prices, as well as the delicious cheese curds and other goodies. Saturdays are a perfect day to come to Madison; the streets are filled with musicians and a variety of artists as well as many sightseers. This Saturday was more special having both Farmers Market and the annual Cars on State classic car show that John and I both look forward to. Knowing that it is hot out may prevent you from getting out there and enjoying this beautiful thing called: life. This calls for a dress, but not just any dress. Diane Von Furstenberg was calling my name. With its sheer texture the wind flows right through with the breeze that is just effortless. I have not been a fan of the high-low trend(at least not on me) until I put this dress on, I like that it is not as dramatic of a high-low as you would normally see. The unusual print reminds me of some sort of an animal print, which is why I grabbed my tiny turtle sterling silver earrings that I got from the cutest little shop on State Street. I decided to keep my hair natural again and just changed it up by pinning it into what I call a bird’s nest. To the farmers market I wore braided sandals and for a day-to-night look the amazing satin Carolyne sling backs. A vintage cameo makes for the perfect statement ring to top off this boho- chic look.
