The warm weather reminds me of what it feels like to be in Puerto Rico, I especially like the smell of freshly cut grass. It brings back many childhood memories from running around the barrio with my friends to sitting on my porch; someone was always cutting the grass. If you are like me you also like to portray who you are and how you feel through your daily looks. I wanted to feel at home and this look did just that; it took me to the beach. The palm tree embroidery sits perfectly on a sheer panel that gives room for airflow and adds texture. Being a two piece it can sometimes overwhelm you, adding a belt will accentuate your waistline pulling the whole look together. Gold wedges add the shine that was missing and elongate your legs. To top off this look I used a tooled leather clutch with beautiful floral details and an amazing straw hat! Y O U R E V E R Y D A Y G I R L meets R I S EOne of the trends I wanted to try all winter was the men's suit that is trending. I was ecstatic when I rescued this retro jumpsuit from the pits of Dig & Save. Thankfully it is in my size and is in perfect condition without sign of wear or staining. I really like the balance of femininity and menswear because it can make you feel strong and powerful. Nowadays there are many women who are the breadwinner of the family. This shows women are stronger than ever, we can really do anything we want if we set our minds to it. When working with a longer pant keep in mind that you want to keep a tall and lean look. Nude sandals are nice and simple. I love this clutch with its floral embroidery on a black backdrop that gives a feminine touch. I am obsessed with needlepoint style embroidery or most commonly known as "Grandma’s Couch" fabric, this is a technique that dates back thousands of years to ancient Egypt. Any good business woman knows to have a watch handy in any given situation. I chose a skinny black watch because it is feminine and sleek perfect for this polished look. Aviators are pretty universal shape, I believe anyone can pull them off and they are great for blocking the sun and staying mysterious. Red lips usually never go wrong and it is always fun to wear lipstick so grab one you like to top off your look. Woman In Black Your Everyday Girl Tip : With these large buttons on the sleeves not much jewelry is needed. I added a watch and cameo ring on opposite hands as well as small stud earrings. As the old saying goes, less is more. Jumpsuit: Vintage Heels: Zara Clutch: Vintage Ring: Sarah Coventry Watch: Anne Klein
9 0 ' s B A B E Summer is here with its hot temperatures, finding something light to keep cool is vital. This razorback tank from Free People is a fresh look to the usually thought of as a work-out tank. I love the floral panel and tie details that give a girly vintage feel. To bring back the 90's anything high waist may work. These light wash shorts are a score with their floral embroidery to complement the subtle floral details on the tank top. There are days where you could need a pick me up, just grab your platforms and go! These lace-up style platforms are extremely comfortable putting me on top of the world; being one to take comfort seriously I could not love these shoes more. Sometimes it feels good to break the rules as I did here with gold necklaces and silver rings, summer often means bolder accessories. Club Master sunnies add a sophisticated look with a vintage vibe which is sort of mysterious, great for your face I think. Somehow Dooney and Bourke finds a way to complete my look almost every day. This mini bucket quickly became a favorite in my collection, being black leather it adds an edgy look I love and its size is just adorable! S U M M E R F R E S HSummer is all about staying and feeling fresh aside from getting to go outdoors and enjoying the beauty of nature. A summer white look to me is all about finding the perfect white sundress. What I look for in a dress is a comfortable fit; always lift your arm when trying on a dress to make sure the sleeves are also comfortable for the long run. I love embroidery details such as the ones on this dress, from the subtle trim on the sleeves to the chest and scalloped trim. Embroidery adds a delicate femininity as well as a vintage feel. Strappy sandals are ideal in any wardrobe when you need a simple heel that is delicate and elongates your legs. These Joie sandals add the perfect pop of color for this fresh look; with its wooden heel it adds a perfect earthy texture for summer. Minimal accessories are necessary since the dress is very detailed all around. Turquoise is a fresh shade of blue ideal for a fresh summer look, a cuff and a couple of rings are flawless with my leftover polish from my last shoot(OPI: Pandamonian Pink). A simple diamond necklace is just a little sparkle that I seem to always need, as well as sparkly studs. At this time of the year it is extremely humid out and there is no point in straightening your hair, embrace those waves and curls. This look could not be finished without a white Dooney and Bourke, now that I have a Dillen wristlet I can switch from the purse when going out!
