Happy Labor Day! I hope you had a great holiday filled with grilled food and laughter, now here is a little fashion inspiration on how to add a fall feeling to a summer day. I am all about summer but even I can admit I have also missed fall. A cropped sweater is a must for fall because you can wear them with a maxi skirt, high waist pants, or in my case high waist shorts. This sweater is very airy and I am obsessing over its intricate knit pattern, and the taupe color is a great neutral for fall. These platform shoes are very easy to walk in and the perfect complement to the top and shorts, as well as a confidence booster. The vintage Dooney and Bourke bucket bag is the perfect fall staple with its navy and brown leather that looks great with falls earthy tones. For the finishing touches, a vintage cross centers this look and a tiny pair of pearls add a delicate touch. I love my fossil watch and I feel it can go with any look, whether fall or not, it’s the perfect color for my skin! I complemented the watch with a copper cuff with an aquamarine stone and topped off the look with a maroon lipstick. I took these pictures while John and I visiting the Allen Centennial Gardens here in Madison, how beautiful are they?! I will be sure to go back before it gets too cold. xoxo, Your Everyday Girl Top & Bralette: Sparkle and Fade (UO) Shorts: Levi's Shoes: Teemix Bag: Dooney and Bourke Watch: Fossil

Happy Monday loves! Yesterday was national watermelon day and you may know I love watermelons from my shopping haul. I have had this chiffon cami from American Apparel for a while now, and I am glad that I saved it for this perfect day. I love the watermelon print on this sheer texture that lets the wind right through. It was a bit hard to style it at first, but after a few changes I chose these almost white high waist shorts to bring out the highlights on the print. I have been getting so many compliments on these Steve Madden suede Lagunna sandals and I just cannot stop wearing them! The height on these shoes is ideal and they are extremely comfortable to walk in even for hours at work. I kept this a very simple look with only studded iridescent earrings and a couple of silver rings. I topped the look with a small AWL Dooney and Bourke cross body. Off I go to finish the other half of this delicious watermelon! Have a great week! Your Everyday Girl Top: American Apparel Shorts: Levi Strauss Heels: Steve Madden Bag: Dooney and Bourke
S U M M E R L O V I N'Lately, all I have been wanting to wear are high waist shorts for their comfortable fit and retro vibe that are ideal for summer. I also have been in a Free People vibe lately which must be since working at Urban Outfitters, here is my girly-gypsy look. This hot pink silk camisole is extremely comfortable and simple with a lace twist that I love, especially since I got it on Maxwell Street Days. These vintage shorts you may have seen me style in the past, I just love the embroidered roses that run along the sides. I layered this thin cardigan that screams fairytale with its scalloped trims and floral details. The accessories take this look to the next level with lots of sterling silver details and pops of turquoise complemented with Oui Madame Essie polish. The Petty Suede Booties from Sam Edelman add a western feel paired with frilly socks for a girly touch. To top off this look I chose a beige Dooney and Bourke bag that adds a nice rugged leather texture and of course round sunnies. Have a great rest of the week! That is why you must choose today to wear what you want and stop saving it for another day, of this I am guilty. It is now or never, that is the motto. I wanted to go for a hipster-Free People vibe with this look, keeping in mind my personal style. I cannot seem to stop wearing high waist shorts this summer, it may be because of how great they fit and how casual they look. The moon and stars print takes you to a magical place paired with a distressed light wash jacket a perfect denim on denim staple. This lamb suede crop top is the ideal neutral shade to complement the print and its split back lends a sexy touch and airflow. These are all reasons to look for vintage treasures to recycle especially since this is part of a set I will be styling later on. I love the navy hat with this denim on denim look because it adds a darker shade of blue that welcomes the classic Club Master with a bit of mystery. I made this look my own by adding my newly rediscovered vintage AWL Dooney and Bourke Bucket bag, it is just perfect. I stack my rings up, up, up and this is fun when incorporating different gems and shapes. Adding to that shine my Fossil watch that I cannot get enough of since I got it back in spring because it is an almost chocolaty rose gold shade that complements my skin well and the lovely Bettina sandals from Rebecca Minkoff; topped off with a delicate grey pearl.
