Your Everyday Girl
As you may already know I decided to do a sweater guide last week as a reminder to wear your sweaters before it is too late! In the sweater guide I incorporated argyle pints, cashmere solids, and fun prints. Choosing how to style each different sweater styles is what makes the look work. All while staying comfortably warm! Incorporate my styling tips for even more sweater styles such as vests, cardigans, etc. I am so glad for spring beak because it is a sign that the weather will soon increase. Needless to say, the time off and seeing family and friends was much needed. I also enjoyed mom's home cooked meals and a Childish Gambino concert. What I am most excited to share with you is my collaboration with Rise. I will be sharing all the details this week but now it is time for me to get ready & go! I hope you all had a great spring break!

Jacket: BB Dakota Dress: Kimchi Blue Shoes: Etienne Aigner Clutch: Morris Moskowitz Earrings: Vintage Whiting and Davis This is a great look for Valentine’s day especially for a romantic dinner for two. I decided to go on a less traditional route when I chose this dress. I love that even though the dress is mustard it looks to be gold. The black lace adds that dash of sexy while maintaining elegance and a feminine mystery. Accessorizing is what really made this entire look. . There is no need for a necklace here since I decided to add these beautiful vintage cameos because they are just big enough to make a classy statement and are the perfect color. I still wanted more so I paired this metallic clutch to add texture and it is a perfect statement piece. Last but not least: The Amazing Jacket! This marching band style is often difficult to style or even to wear often; you might not even purchase such an item because you may not be able to wear it as often as other jackets. This can be true but when you find that right look to pair such a statement piece with, making that risk is all worth it. We cannot escape the cold therefore, tights. I wanted to wear heels to feel more dressed up for the occasion. These pumps are very classy and timeless which is exactly what I wanted to go for with this look. I kept my hair and makeup simple for a daytime look that can be transitioned into night with a red lip and low pony. Whether you have a Valentine or not, seize the day in style.
Love Always Your Everyday Girl Sweater: BCBG Max Azria Skirt: Vintage Shoes: Very Volatile Purse: Vintage Coach Necklace: DIY under 'Lifestyle' Cuff: Marc Jacobs Belt: Forever 21 Rings: Vintage This winter all I seem to be gravitating towards are blacks and grays. Let’s face it! It can get depressing at some point because all we want is to wear bright colors again! I figured by styling this black cashmere turtle neck and subtle flower print a line would be just a little bit of fun in my look while maintaining warmth and comfort. I love how the cut and print are amazingly slimming and flattering on this skirt, especially with a skinny belt. The vintage coach cross body is perfect for this look because of its classic style and beautiful green leather. I wanted to add a pop of color with maroon oxfords and red cameo necklace. I used two Maybelline lipsticks to achieve a berry plum shade. First I applied #895 "On Fire Red" shade everywhere except on the outline of my lips, then I applied #435 "Plum Effect" on the outline and blended it together. I like to apply a coat of Eos Summer Fruit lip balm before applying lipstick because it keeps my lips hydrated and my lipstick looking fresh. In the end I felt feminine and super warm which is most important when we are experiencing negative double digit temperatures.
Your Everyday Girl Blazer & Sweater: Lauren Ralph Lauren Jeans: Hudson Handbag: Vintage Dooney & Bourke Boots: Breckelle's Watch: Sturling Silk Scarf: Vintage Necklace: DIY Ring: ReThreads Super cool modern gargoyles! I have finally found the perfect way to stay warm, with Cashmere + Wool. The cashmere cable knit is perfect underneath a wool blazer because you will not feel itchy from the wool since the sweater is extremely soft and together they are perfectly warm. Brown boots and a dark wash jean is pretty much necessary here. When accessorizing stay within your color scheme and add a pop of color somewhere, somehow. This vintage Dooney & Bourke myrtle green handbag paired with a navy and mustard yellow silk scarf adds just the right amount of the perfect colors. Accessorizing is all about the little details. Such as the delicate cameo necklace and the beautiful gold and brown watch. The little things are what make the big picture, so keep in mind your overall look you are going for. I wanted to go for a totally Ralph Lauren preppy look, I'd say my mission was accomplished. Stay warm, -Your Everyday Girl Layering different patterns such as a soft knit and a polished herringbone add dimension to your look. |
