The warm weather reminds me of what it feels like to be in Puerto Rico, I especially like the smell of freshly cut grass. It brings back many childhood memories from running around the barrio with my friends to sitting on my porch; someone was always cutting the grass. If you are like me you also like to portray who you are and how you feel through your daily looks. I wanted to feel at home and this look did just that; it took me to the beach. The palm tree embroidery sits perfectly on a sheer panel that gives room for airflow and adds texture. Being a two piece it can sometimes overwhelm you, adding a belt will accentuate your waistline pulling the whole look together. Gold wedges add the shine that was missing and elongate your legs. To top off this look I used a tooled leather clutch with beautiful floral details and an amazing straw hat! T H E F I S H T A I L B R A I DSummer is all fun and games until you step outside and come to the realization you might melt before you make it back home. Need not to worry here is a look that will keep you looking fierce and feeling it too! A fishtail braid is a nice way to keep your hair neat in the humid days and if you are like me you may like to throw something new in the mix at times. The Vive Top from Dolce Vita is giving me just that; a summer vive! The braided trim traces the scoop neck to reveal split back that works as the perfect silk top. The black and white tribal print adds a bohemian-chic feel perfect with hot pink. Mirrored aviators add a fun pop of color and holographic heels catch it all in a subtle way! A black leather tote is a nice balance to this detailed look. Having just a shade darker is what gave me the extra push I needed to wear this bright yellow dress. With its open back and silky fabric, you will be sure to stay cool even under the scorching sun. The delicate straps work well with strappy sandals, and the wooden heel adds great texture. Green mirrored aviators and red Dooney and Bourke handbag give the right pops of color for a little more oomph. To top off this look I chose black jeweled cameos and a braided bracelet giving a hint of a little bohemian style. This look is bright and colorful ideal for a trip to Rio de Janeiro, or you could settle for a World Cup party. Nonetheless you will be sure to score! Y O U R E V E R Y D A Y G I R L meets R I S EOne of the trends I wanted to try all winter was the men's suit that is trending. I was ecstatic when I rescued this retro jumpsuit from the pits of Dig & Save. Thankfully it is in my size and is in perfect condition without sign of wear or staining. I really like the balance of femininity and menswear because it can make you feel strong and powerful. Nowadays there are many women who are the breadwinner of the family. This shows women are stronger than ever, we can really do anything we want if we set our minds to it. When working with a longer pant keep in mind that you want to keep a tall and lean look. Nude sandals are nice and simple. I love this clutch with its floral embroidery on a black backdrop that gives a feminine touch. I am obsessed with needlepoint style embroidery or most commonly known as "Grandma’s Couch" fabric, this is a technique that dates back thousands of years to ancient Egypt. Any good business woman knows to have a watch handy in any given situation. I chose a skinny black watch because it is feminine and sleek perfect for this polished look. Aviators are pretty universal shape, I believe anyone can pull them off and they are great for blocking the sun and staying mysterious. Red lips usually never go wrong and it is always fun to wear lipstick so grab one you like to top off your look. Woman In Black Your Everyday Girl Tip : With these large buttons on the sleeves not much jewelry is needed. I added a watch and cameo ring on opposite hands as well as small stud earrings. As the old saying goes, less is more. Jumpsuit: Vintage Heels: Zara Clutch: Vintage Ring: Sarah Coventry Watch: Anne Klein
